Air War – North Vietnam

This novel of the Vietnam Air War spans my aviation experiences from 1964 through 1973. From flying tail dragging J-3 Cubs from a grass field in South Plainfield, New Jersey to being shot off the pointy end of an aircraft carrier in the Gulf of Tonkin, the experiences related in the novel are real even if the names of the characters had to be invented.

Prowler Ball is a novelized true story set against the background of Linebacker II, the last major air campaign of the Vietnam War. The story deals with life aboard ship and ashore as well as the constant beat of combat air operations.

The photo on the cover was taken over Laos in 1972 by an RA-5C Vigilante of me in the front seat of the EA-6B Prowler with our F-4 Phantom escort.
